Question Need to delete tons of mail....

One of our users got whacked by some kind of mail loop. I looked at a few of the messages in question, and they had had hundreds of duplicate lines for:

Quote:
X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at ourhost.ourdomain
and:

Quote:
X-Mailer: Zimbra 6.0.3_GA_1915.SLES10_64
So now what? How do I clear out all those messages for this user? I thought of creating a filter for them, and running that filter on their inbox. However, the filter often comes back with "0" messages matched, even though that same search pattern manually returns many. So I'm not sure what's up with that. Any other ways to get ride of this junk? Anybody else seeing anything like this?

Hmmm ... If you can find something else unique within those emails that would match elements from Zimbra Web Client Search Tips - Zimbra :: Wiki then you could use something like
Code:
su - zimbra
zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com search "in:Inbox (subject: A Runaway Message)"
This would give you a list of mail IDs that you could then pass to
Code:
su - zimbra
zmmailbox -z -m user@domain deleteitem <ID>
