Default SMTP Auth stopped working for a bit then started.

It was really weird. My boss called me and said he couldn't connect to the server giving "An error occurred sending mail: Unable to authenticate to SMTP..."
We require a username and password to get SMTP, I was looking at the logs and the settings to make sure nothing was changed then it just started working again. Is there a certain process other than postfix that handles SMTP auth that might have been having problems and Zimbra restarted it?

Only is it was unable to query the LDAP store. Check all files under /opt/zimbra/log for errors.
