Is there a way to notify the sender that their email was dropped due to a virus being in an attachment? Right now the behavior seems to be just to drop the email but the user never knows why their email never gets delivered.
Thanks,
Matt

this is often ill advised because it can cause backscatter spam. probably why i don't see an option for it anywhere in zmprov gacf. you might have to manually modify the clamav configs.
I have tried to help another user with this, on the forums, and a change to amavisd and policy maps would need to be done.
I do completely agree though that this is ill advised due to backscatter.
Yea....nevermind. It's not a very common occurrence anyway. Appreciate the input.
Thanks,
Matt
