Default Connection to another LDAP

Hey guys,

Does anybody know if there is a way to connect Zimbra to an existing LDAP server?

For example:

Company1 has a SLES 10 Server Running OES 2 with eDirectory (LDAP from Novell) with all their users information.

If they wanted to get their employees access to email using Zimbra, what can they do?

Thanks in advance,

Under the domain settings in the Zimbra Admin Console, you can setup authentication against an external LDAP server for that domain's users.

The users do have to be created in Zimbra first, but they can auth against the other LDAP server.

So what you are saying is that at the time of installation, do not install zimbra-ldap then after it's installed in the Admin console (GUI) choose another LDAP server?

You have to install the Zimbra LDAP then provision your users on the Zimbra server then authenticate against another external LDAP. There are threads in the forums that have a script that will provision users from another LDAP server, if you want to search for it.
