not to mark mails as read if other user reads

our zimbra system automatically marks mails as read if another user reads them. is there a possibility to avoid this, so that they are only marked as read if i read them myself?

That is not possible on a shared mailbox/folder (assuming you are using a shared mailbox?).

If you only want them marked as read if you read them, then it sounds like having a shared mailbox/folder might not be the right option
