Default [SOLVED] sent items filling up with duplicates

We have an account that their sent items continues to fill up duplicating messages that they have sent. They're not 're-sending' these messages, they're just filling up their mailbox. It's up to 140,000 messages and growing. I can't seem to find anything in their client (Outlook 2007), it's happening when his computer is off as well as on.

When do a search on their mailbox for ID numbers to delete in mass, I get negative numbers for ID numbers with the deleteMessage function doesn't seem to like.

Here's what I see:

Code:
zmmailbox -z -m user@mycomapny.com search -l 1000 "in:sent (subject:trying\ again)"

num: 1000, more: true

         Id Type From Subject Date

 3. -154089 conv user Trying again 01/03/10 08:15
 4. -154056 conv user Trying again 01/03/10 08:14
 5. -154023 conv user Trying again 01/03/10 08:13
 6. -153990 conv user Trying again 01/03/10 08:06

zmmailbox -z -m user@mycompany.com dm -154157
ERROR: mail.NO_SUCH_MSG (no such message: -154157)
Thoughts?

Thanks.

Default

Update:

I completely wiped the Sent folder (using zmmailbox empty Sent) and mail is still being replicated every few seconds.

Default Android

It turns out, the employee had purchased the new Motorola Droid and setup access to the server using IMAP (and never told anyone, of course). I never got my hands on the device to see how exactly he had it setup, but it was definitely the device replicating messages, though only in the 'Sent' folder.

After our Helpdesk reconfigured it to use Active Sync, the problem resolved itself.

In case anyone runs in to the same issue and is looking for a culprit, I found it by seeing this in the mailbox.log file (/opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log)

Code:
grep username ./mailbox.log* | grep "Adding Message" | grep "folderName=Sent"
returned tens of thousands of lines of the following:

Code:
./mailbox.log.2009-12-31:2009-12-31 09:23:21,856 INFO [ImapSSLServer-196669] [name=username@mycompany;mid=1233;ip=70.209.xxx.xxx;] mailop - Adding Message: id=143160, Message-ID=<v4tt7hrd5aawn9a6anjd61vr.1258700237045@email.android.com>, parentId=18864, folderId=5, folderName=Sent.
