Default All Day Event Shows as 2 Days WHY?

Hello!
We upgraded to Zimbra 6.04 over the weekend. Now we are having problems with our calendar system.

We have 1 account that we created a global calendar through. We created a link on our website to the calendar (we got this link from the share calendar dialog box)

when you look at the calendar in any zimbra web client, the calendar appears normal. By normal i mean that all day events only span 1 day.

If you follow the link provided by the share calendar dialog box; it shows that the all day events span 2 days.

Here is the link that the share dialog box shows for allowing external users to view the calendar.

School Calendar: December 2009

What do i do to fix this BESIDES going through and changing each and every all day event to a static time frame, like 9am to 5pm. That wouldn't really work for us.

I am also experiencing a similar problem. We have a number of shared calendars that our staff use to create various task schedules. Our employees like to print these schedules for the entire month so they know what tasks have been assigned to them. Everything appears to look fine when they view the shared calendars, however when they into the print preview, the "All day events" carry over to the next day.

I can't confirm this, however my users believe that this problem started happening after the upgrade from 6.0.3 to 6.0.4.

One more thing to add, I thought I would try logging into Zimbra using the HTML client to see what happens and the problem still occurs. It is actually worse as this problem is not only happening in the print preview, but also in the regular calendar view.

Just curious, which version of zimbra did you upgrade from?

I can confirm this Problem! Even with timezones set correctly...

In our case the calender looks right but if we press print button the all day events span over two days!

I think it is a bug with the timezone so that the events move one hour and span over two days...

we are also on 6.0.4 (directly upgraded from 5.0.18)

So, are all these users in the same timezone or different timezones? There's several bugs open about Outlook mangling all day events when crossing timezones.

Default Helps a little

Found this and if you set a start time on the day it helps a little but the last item covers from Friday to Saturday

go into the account and set the account to log in with the standard html client

Log in as the account and go into preference / calendar

You can now change the start time for the day.

Save and return to the advance client.

hm... are you taking about the timezone setting?!? Because a dedicated "Starttime of the Day" option is not available in our zimbra 6.0.4 Installation?!? Or did i miss your point totally?!?

Is there already a bug report for this?!?

I think you have to switch from the advanced web client to the standard client in order for the change start time to become available. At that point you can switch back. This still does not fix the issue totally. In addition, none of our users use outlook, so this problem has nothing to do with outlook for us.
