Default Migrate from Win2k+/Mdaemon to Zimbra

Hi ALL,

I would like to migrate the existing setup of Win2K + Mdaemon 7.61 with anti-virus (our setup/configuration @ present with 250 mail boxes) to zimbra+clamav+amavis/amavisd-new on Centos4.1 (RHEL 4 based distro..).

MY initial thought was postfix + Courier-Imap + dovecot + maildrop + openldap + sasl2 + mysql + clamav + spamassassin + amavisd-new / mailscanner + Pyzor + Razor + DCC + open exchange which after seeing Zimbra has changed. I would like to integrate my e-mail users using mozilla thunderbird to zimbra intgrated with spamassassin,clamav(amavisd-new) where they can utilize the shared calendrs, global addressbook, etc

Is It possible?

regards
shann

Welcome. Short anwser is yes.

Thunderbird works great with Zimbra's IMAP interface. It's also pretty simple to configure the LDAP based global address book.

Yes. Assuming you have mail to migrate you can use imapsync to move the mail. You'll want to batch create the accounts using zmprov. So for starters you'll need to export all the username and passwords from your current setup for import into Zimbra.

Default Migrate MDaemon to Zimbra

In "Users Migration" document (http://www.zimbra.com/forums/newrepl...quote=1&p=1658).

[...]
If your old IMAP server doesen't support NAMESPACE you have to also add appropriate options for example on iMail 6.0 --sep1 . --prefix1 INBOX. are required.
[...]
I don't understand this option:

iMail 6.0 --sep1 . --prefix1 INBOX

Can you explain it? - please!
Thanks.
