Well, it's a start... at least you have errors to work with now.

While sifting through these forum posts the past few days trying to get this to work, I came across a couple you may try.

[SOLVED] Daily report shows emails to zimbra from zimbra every ten minutes

I'm using Postfix, so your mileage may vary - the post above is based on sendmail. Though when I had tried using sendmail for the local system I found that:

update-alternatives --install /usr/sbin/sendmail mta /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/sendmail 90
did the trick... You're basically just telling the system to use zimbra's sendmail instance instead of it's own.
