Mail temporary deferred after zimbra migration

Hi all,

i must migrate from an older server to newer, this server isn't into a lan (have a public ip on eth0) and serves several services (web, dns, mail, ecc ecc)
we are speaking about a debian lenny server (both of them)
i did the following:

install zcs on the new server
copy the entire /opt/zimbra from the older to the newer
run again setup.sh to perform the upgrade.

Everything seems work fine but the local delivery fails with ALL of the incoming emails:

"mail.ilportalinux.it" is being resolved correctly, no logs on mailboxd.log, no mails delivered, nothing changed between the older server and the newer, also in the older server all is working perfectly.

I can telnet successfully to the 7025 even using FQDN, public ip address and local loopback ip address. No firewall installed.

Please someone could help me?

That would appear to be incorrect judging by the highlighted text and the following result:

ping mail.ilportalinux.it
PING mail.ilportalinux.it (212.95.32.174) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from mail.logubuntu.it (212.95.32.174): icmp_seq=1 ttl=53 time=39.3 ms
64 bytes from mail.logubuntu.it (212.95.32.174): icmp_seq=2 ttl=53 time=38.0 ms

You either have a DNS problem or your hosts file is incorrect.

sorry my bad, i've not specified:

the server has a dns installed (bind), since it will be the new server i've set up bind to resolve names with the new ip, actually the authoritative server for internet is 212.95.32.174, but for the new server, actually, is 188.72.199.31 (127.0.0.1 set on resolv.conf).

if you set as your dns server 188.72.199.31 you'll resolve correctly the fqdn.

What do you see in /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log when it attempts to deliver the message?

Nothing! this is the most strange thing.

However, i've tried to completely remove and reinstall the new server, now i'm running install.sh after imported the entire /opt/zimbra directory...

i hope this time it will be right!
