korvin, can you describe your topology (list servers w/version and what domains they are in and the client machine and what domain it is in, adc, etc) so we can build a replica of it.

Yup thats a solution. Sadly cant work for us we have 270 mailboxes, its a pain.

We had partial sucess with imapsync. Main obstacle was resetting user passwords. With two support techies you have to go and help each and every of 270 aggravated users to reset the password.

We managed to bypass that by dumping and cracking existing passwords.

MS AD is a security joke ...

Topology as follows:

Single AD domain with two exchange sites. Exchange 5.5 server on each site connected through site connector.

Clients are win xp sp2 with patches coming through SuS (fairly new) and Outlook 2003.

SIte 1:
Exchange 5.5 servers are running on Win 2k AD domain controler (root, master of all roles) with ADC. There is a number of other AD DC's (mixed Win 2k3 and Win2k). Exchange 5.5 is connected with exchange site connector to a site 2 exchange 5.5. This site receives mail from the net and forwards it to appropriate mailbox.

Site 2:
Exchange 5.5 server on Win2k AD DC with exchange ADC. One more AD DC (win 2k3). Talks to site 1 exchange 5.5 through site connector.

AD DC on site 1 is "primary" DC (DNS, master of all roles, DHCP).

So single AD domain and two exchange sites. 128k leased line between sites.

I have tried migration wizard from site 1 (where primary AD is). I guess we need to get it working on both sites.

I did not designed it, just installing zimbra

Excellent. I take it that I'll need to manually create all the Zimbra accounts; and for each user, login and import their .PST file, eh? If so, I just have about 50 mailboxes so that's not too bad.

Default MS Exchange Migration Wizard fails

I have a mixed Windows AD domain and we are moving away from MS Exchange 5.5 to a Debian 4.0 ZCS 5.0.1 setup.
I try to import mailboxes throu the Wizard but it does not work.
My env is
a) Windows 2000 Adv Server as AD domain contoller (mixed mode) running AD connector
b) Windows 2000 server running MS Exchange 5.5
c) Windows 2000 Pro as workstation from were I am running the import wizard
d) Debian 4.0 running zcs 5.0.1

Result:
Query Builder gives Application Error=Failed to open directory searcher
Object Picker gives Application Error=Unable to open directory object

Are there any success stories with similar setup and task?
Is there a way for a detailed log/trace that can help me?
Thanks
