Default [SOLVED] Increasing Postfix Max Hop count in ZimbraNE

All,

I'd like to raise the maximum number of allowable hops on my Zimbra server because I have some spam and list processing in front of it that can add 5-20 hops in some cases. I'd like to raise my limit to 30 hops max but I'm not sure where in Zimbra to do that (I'm a reformed Sendmail guy and `confMAX_HOP' used to be my friend). I see that postfix has a tunable hopcount_limit that one can modify in postfix's main.cf but I'm not sure where I would make that change in Zimbra in order to make it stick across upgrades and restarts.

Thanks!

Josh

You should be able to add it to /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf which looks like it will stick across restarts. As with most customizations of this nature however, it will not stick across upgrades. You will need to re-apply it after any upgrades that you do.

After I tweaked my search terms Google found me a page recommending this:

As user 'zimbra':
Code:
% zmlocalconfig -e postfix_hopcount_limit=<blah>
and to make it effective immediately:

Code:
% postconf -e hopcount_limit=<blah>
Which should solve my problem. However, looking into it further it was my spam filter that was causing the problem, and the default hopcount_maximum for postfix and Zimbra appears to be 50.

Thanks again,

Josh
