Default [SOLVED] Changing the Mailbox Branding for Different Domains

Hello everyone,

I hope this is not a subject discussed too often before (if yes, kindly direct me to the correct thread, thx), but I have a problem with the branding of our mailbox servers.

Zimbra Version: zcs-6.0.2_GA

Situation:

We have two domains, domain1.com and domain2.com
Each has a number of accounts.

Login is always through login.ourdomain.com

Now, when exampleuser@domain1.com logs in, I want him to see his own Company logo in the top left corner. And I want the click there to lead to his own company website.

If anotherexampleuser@domain2.com logs in, I want him to see HIS own logo and link.

However, I cannot change that.

I've tried using the commandline (zmprov modifyDomain...) and the Administration console.

The settings are correct, however, when the users log in they dont see the correct result.

Question: Do I have to somehow associate the accounts with the domain?

(Is it enough to create account and write someuser@domain1.com for him to automatically be part of domain1.com defined in domains?)

What are we missing here?

We've spent a day looking into this.. It's very frustrating.

Regards,
Lukas (Munich, Germany)

What is the full output of the following command:

Code:
zmcontrol -v
You should also update your forum profile with that information.

Code:
$ zmcontrol -v
Release 6.0.2_GA_1912.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 NETWORK edition.
It's in upper right corner of every of my posts already, I think. ;-)

It is now but it wasn't there earlier or I wouldn't have asked.

Why are the users doing that rather than logging in through their own domain?

Yes, correct. I thought it was the same information up there, but it didn't say Network Edition. Sorry about that.

Well, we have one login location for everyone. But MX-entries from many domains are set so we get their mail.

So they go to our login page and it has a generic look.
However, they login using usernames that contain their own domain suffixes. After that it shouldn't be a problem to show them the right graphics, no?

The reason is that we don't want to deploy anything on their servers (e.g. the serves that contain their homepages etc.).

Now that I think about it:

Probably we should be able to make skins in the /skins-directory for each of them, and restrict them to only seeing one skin. This should work, no?

But it should also be possible to just check the domain part of the name and show them different logo in the upper left corner...

There are a number of bugs and RFEs relating to this in bugzilla.
We have solved it for some of our customers by using nginx on a seperate box and getting them to login to zimbra.domain.com. This way we get an ssl certificate just for them.

Thanks, Dave.

Can you point me to any of those bugs or possible workarounds?

The seperate nginx sounds like a nice fix but it's a bit unfeasible for us.

Ok,

So the last reply helped somewhat.
What we do now is using custom skins for each account. This is a bit annoying, because we have to restrict each account with a skin using its branding, but it works.

One thing I did not know that set me back was that if you use the Style-Override (Using styles-tab and entering logo, url etc for the domain), it will override the skin settings.

Now when we leave that empty it works well.

Perhaps this will be useful to anyone with a similar problem.
