First switch user to #su zimbra
then put this command .

$zmprov -l rd domain.com newdomain.com

This will change the domain name eg: mail1.yourdomain.com to mail.yourdomain.com

That's not correct, you should always use the following syntax:

Code:
su - zimbra
The hyphen ('-') is important as it creates the correct environment and leaving it out may cause you problems.
