Question [SOLVED] How to handle "BANNED contents" emails ?

Please forgive the newbie question. I have searched and couldn't find an answer.

I have recently set up Zimbra for the first time, and have never dealt with amavisd before.

On the fourth day of running a pilot I received an email notification

Code:
BANNED contents (.exe,.exe-ms,photo.exe) in mail TO YOU from <blah@blahblah.com>
It informs me that the email is in quarantine.

I can look on the /opt/zimbra partition and see the file in the directory.

My question is - How do I handle this file from here ?

The amavisd documentation I have found on the web refers to a utility to release the email (amavisd-release) but that does not seem to be part of the Zimbra distribution.

Is there an alternative tool?

Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have used the instruction on this post before for releasing a quarantined email and it worked fine for me.

X-Quarantined-From: <sender@domain.com>
X-Quarantined-To: <recipient@domain.com>

and then

./infect /opt/zimbra/amavisd/quarantine/virus-?????

this works for me

You may also want to vote for these bugs:

Bug 8454 – Quarantined email management functions
Bug 11061 – amavisd virus quarantine should be to a mailbox

Thanks. A little cumbersome for multiple files, but it does work.

NOTE: for anyone else trying this method, the two X-headers need to be the first and second lines added to your email files.

If not, you get a message indicating that they don't exist, and that message has the header name misspelled which leads to even more confusion.
