Question zmconvertd will not start, fails to initialize

Hey, hi, all,

Hope youre all healthy, wealthy, wise.

I can issue a start command just fine for Zimbra & all will start except zmconvertd. I have grepped all the logs I can think of (unless I'm missing something) and this is basically the best info' I can come up with. A web search for this or fragments of this doesn't yield much, so I was hoping to post here & get some advice. Thanks in advance for that. I just upgraded from v.6.0.1 to v.6.0.2 & this issue existed then too.

Default Same issue solved

I had a similar problem, running on Ubuntu 8.04. I found the following in log/convertd.log:
Code:
mod_convert: init failed: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I was not able to find it using apt-get. I manually installed it using the following instructions modified from this page:
Code:
cd /tmp
wget -c http://lug.mtu.edu/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gcc-3.3/libstdc++5_3.3.6-10_i386.deb
dpkg -x libstdc++5_3.3.6-13ubuntu2_i386.deb libstdc++5
sudo cp libstdc++5/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5.0.7 /usr/lib
cd /usr/lib
sudo ln -s libstdc++.so.5.0.7 libstdc++.so.5
