Default How to use existing LDAP groups for distribution lists

We have an LDAP server infrastructure that contains all of our users and Zimbra users authenticate successfully against it. We also use that LDAP server for the Zimbra GAL lookup and it properly does autocomplete against any of our LDAP user IDs.

What we'd still like to do is our our existing department groups in our LDAP server as Zimbra distribution lists. In any LDAP group there are many uniqemember attributes with the DNs of each individual users. I realize that we can manually setup distribution lists on the Zimbra server but we already have a fairly sophisticated group structure on the LDAP servers that we'd ideally like to leverage.

Can this be made to work?
