Question Adding domain via CLI and domain does not appear in the web admin UI

Hi Zimbrians & Community,

I've created a few new domains via CLI and just noticed that these new domains do not appear in the web admin UI, at all. However if I try to query or create a domain name with the same name I get an 'domain exists' error.

Is this a known bug? Or is there an attribute that needs to be set to have the domain displayed in the web admin UI.

I just used the standard CLI:
Code:
zmprov cd mktng.domain.com
Thanks in advance!

Things like this can sometimes be the cache. Have you treid stopping/restaring zimbra or maybe run zmprov flushCache domain

No I didn't try flushing the cache, thanks for the suggestion.

But the Zimbra server has been running for 8+ weeks since this change and still it did not show up in the web admin UI. So you'd think the cache would have been cleared by then, surely?

Hmm that's weird. Is this a multi-server install or just a single server? I'm able to add domains in 6.0.2 just fine and have them show up. You shouldn't have to do anything special.

This might be a dumb question, but you are sure that the user you are using is a full system admin and not just a domain admin?

yeah i think after 8 weeks we can rule out cache.

the domains do appear in the web interface if you create them in the web interface right? If so maybe try this

1. Create test.domain.com using the web interface and default options
2. Run zmprov getDomain test.domain.com > /tmp/domain.test1
3. Delete the domain
4. Create test.domain.com using the command line
5. run zmprov getDomain test.domain.com > /tmp/domain.test2
6. Run diff /tmp/domain.test1 /tmp/domain.test2

then compare the differences and see if anything jumps out at you.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll give that a go and report back.

BTW: This was a single server install of ZCS 5.0.18.
