CardDAV doesn't work particularly well in Mac OS 10.6, as shown by this thread. To get it to work, I'd recommend starting with a Lion upgrade, and I would consider upgrading ZCS to 7.1.3 as well. (Even if you stay on 6.x, you should upgrade to a newer version--a large number of bugs have been fixed since 6.0.6.)
