Default Collaborative Vacation Scheduling

People should be able to use Zimbra to manage their vacation.

Some nice features would be:

- Plan annual vacations or single days "days off";
- View remaining vacation days;
- View others vacation scheduling to better plan yours vacation (optional)
- Admin (or HR encharged person) should be able to approve/disapprove dates;
- HR person should be enable to add compensation days (eg: bonus);
- Organization shall be able to print the annual vacation plan;
- View annual holidays;

Do you have another suggestion?

Why not just create a company wide shared calendar for vacation planning? Many people do this already for exactly what you are talking about... no need to file a RFE for a capability that is already in the product.

Yes, probably there are companies that have that kind of service... same as the "resource scheduler" from Zimbra. but I would be nice to have all centralised with Zimbra?

I cannot talk for everyone, but for my company It would be a nice feature.

As you just mentioned yourself... this is already in Zimbra. You can either create a user like vacations@company.com or you can create a resource (A resource has the advantage of not taking a user license if you are on Network Edition). Either way you simply share the calendar with the entire company and either allow certain people (HR) to manage it, or allow everybody to manage it to add their own vacations.

It would work... although not the fanciest solution.

How the HR people would grant compensation days?

Add a tag to a calendar event showing it as such, put something in the title of the event, etc... there are many different ways that you can accomplish this. It mostly depends on what will work best for your company/users.

That is not a proper business solution.

ZCS (Collaboration Suite) - So, I guess all the collaboration suggestions that make people interact and turn easier the communication with each other are welcome. It might not be useful in some companies scenarios but for others definitely are.

Don't speak in a way like "Your idea is no good.", say at least "Your idea it's not useful for me nor for my company".
