Is this only happening for one user; and when they connect via the Zimbra proxy ? What do they have set for the preferred version in the users account preferences ?

Code:
su - zimbra
zmprov ga user@domain zimbraMailHost
Does that point to the correct server? Also check
Code:
su - zimbra
zmprov user@domain zimbraPrefClientType
does that indeed show as advanced ?
