Basic search, can do partial email address but not full

I may be a little confused. 6.0.1GA, I can go to advanced search and in the From box the following searches work
firstname.lastname
@domain.com
firstname.lastname and @domain.com

but I can not do
firstname.lastname@domain.com

It always returns no results.

And I know there are From messages with that address in it.

Are you typing this into the To: address box in the web ui? If so you have typed out a full address already... so since you have already filled in the address yourself why does it need to search for the address you just entered in?

This is in the From: box in the advanced search. Sorry if I didn't explain that correctly in my first post.

It works for me, try re-indexing the mailbox and try again.
