[SOLVED] odd log message: "enabling pix workarounds"

I'm seeing odd error messages in my log files; I'm curious what's triggering them. From the message, I'm inferring that somehow it's detecting a cisco pix firewall in the path somewhere and making config adjustments to compensate for known bugs, and curious about what the issue is:

5101A704E5: enabling PIX workarounds: disable_esmtp delay_dotcrlf for <hostname>[ipaddress]:25

This is a postfix error, I see it on non-zimbra postfix servers too. A quick google should turn up adequate explanations.
