Default [SOLVED] Server UI ports may not respond at random

Hello,

We had installed Zimbra OS 6.0.1 @ Ubuntu 8.0.4 for evaluation purposes. Installation was smooth. The problem was that connection to user (443) or admin (7071) ports sometimes could be established and sometimes could not. Situation was constantly changing at random without any intervention from our side.

Had somebody suffered similar problem? Any recommendations, ideas?

Thank you in advance,
shcherbatyuk

This is most most likely to be a problem with one of the following: a) your firewall b) your AppArmor c) you router d) your NIC e) your network connect settings f) a DNS problem. You could look in the zimbra log files or your server log files to try and determine what the problem might be.

Thank you for the idea of checking out AppArmor!

Here is some more information:

A) Client-side firewall log does not contain events with server address.
C) Evaluation ZCS server is on the same IP network as client and client-server traffic is not routed, just switched.
D) ZMC @ Ubuntu is installed in ESXi VM. Other VMs are healthy. I think there are no problems with NIC.
E) When I can not connect to UI, I can connect to console. That's why I think there are no probably problems with network settings.
F) DNS was already troubleshooted. It is OK.

Yes, the source of the problem is AppArmor which is installed by default on Ubuntu 8.04. Considering that ZCS installation guide recommends to disable SELinux on RHEL it is not very unexpected.

Thanks to Phoenix for the hint.
