ZCS 6.0.1 child account fails to send attachments

Hello,

I recently migrate my multiserver zimbra install to the new 6 series mainly to get advantage of read receipts.

We are using heavly child account because more than one user need to see plubic email address, as sales, quality etc.

All the problem are relative with account with child account that in 6 series have changed in the web console; the account are now one below the other and not on their box as in the 5 series.

The problem that araised are:

1. Nobody can send messages from child account if the message has attachments.
2. The user can drag email from the main account folder to the child account folder but cannot do the reverse.
3. When you have child account, search folder and zimlets from are invisible in the web client.
4. Often, when setting preferencies of the child account you cannot save and the only way to exit back to normal operation is to click somewhere without save.

If someone konw how to resolve these issues I will appreciate.

5. My child accounts configured not to mark messages as read automatically. If I mark them manually, first time its marked back to unread immediately, secound time it's OK.

You haven't given much information about the Zimbra version you're using.

If this is a problem then you should search bugzilla and see if it's already been filed as a bug or RFE, if it hasn't then file a report.

We are also seeing these these problems with child accounts.

ZCS version : zcs-NETWORK-6.0.1_GA_1816.RHEL5.20090911164519

I've experienced the same bug:

Bug 41154 – error when sending an email with attachment on a child account

should be fixed in 6.0.2


I temporary solved to my customer by installing him Zimbra Desktop... But was just one client.

Zimbra Desktop can be a good solution, but how can you use child accounts automatically (authenticate only the parent accont, like in the web client)?

in ZD you can't, you must add each account you want to be visible to the user.

That's what I don't want to manage for all users on all workstations
Maybe a future feature in ZD?
