    Default Question: How to let POP users see the Junk folder?

    Most of our remote users are using POP. Is there a way that I can have their junk mail tagged but left in their inbox so they can see if something was tagged by mistake? I don't want to set this globally, but on about 50 or so POP accounts.

    Well either you can set the spam rules to tag only but that is system wide. Or maybe add a filter on the POP user's mailbox to move mail from Junk back to the INBOX on delivery.

    Hi Kevin,

    How can we achieve this: "set the spam rules to tag only"?
    In addition, if the user is using POP, how are the emails from the Junk folder downloaded to the email client since POP only downloads the Inbox folder?

    POP in most clients only sees the INBOX. So yes setting it to tag only would work then then they can have a local rule/filter on their client to move the SPAM.

    So am I right to say that there is no way to configure Zimbra to redirect tagged spams to the Inbox at the server side?

    If you're willing to have them set up a second POP account, you can let them view a folder other than the Inbox. If the username you pass to the popserver looks like username{in:junk}, we'll return all the messages in the Junk folder instead of those in the Inbox. And yes, this does generalize -- if you logged into the popserver as username{in:junk or in:inbox} you'd get all the Junk and Inbox messages commingled.

    Just set the kill value to 0 in the mta config. This way Spam Assassin will mark/tag but not move the mail to Junk.

    I did that, and no e-mail was passing which was previousely marked as spam - even used the spam-test subject line:

    Also - I had tried setting the kill percent to 300, as referenced in this thread:
    Collecting spam in one mailbox

    and that did not work either. from what I understand, setting the kill percent to 300 would effectively be the same as setting it to '0' since nothing will typically get a score over 60, and if it does - it is *probably* spam

    Am I doing something incorrect here?

    Are there any other suggestions you have? With this issue unresolved for us, I can't recommend Zimbra to our clients.
