Default Permissions on files pulled off attachments

Hello, I ran across some permission problems when pulling attachments off of emails. When multiple attachments are sent (say jpegs), there is an option to 'save all attachments'. This balls up the jpegs into a .zip file. When this .zip file is expanded into a directory, this directory is 700. This is not good when this archive is moved to a NAS and nobody but the owner can modify it's contents. I'm working in OSX (10.5.8) when seeing this behavior. Has anyone else seen this, or have a workaround for this?
