Default LDAP authentication timeout

We have external LDAP authentication setup. Frequently IMAP users need to enter their password a number of times before it gets accepted and sometimes the web clients do too. I checked the audit.log and it seems like it's timing out due to a slower response from the LDAP server.

Is there a way to change the timeout setting to give the LDAP server a little more time to respond?

Still having the same issue. Does anyone have any recommendations, anyone?

I'm getting a bind failure in the audit.log and I don't know where to go from here.

Well, the obvious question seems to be "what *is* the timeout set to, and is it reasonable your LDAP server ought to be taking that long -- IE: are you fixing the right problem? You *might* need to beef up the auth server instead.

Well it was working fine with ZCS 5.01X before I went to 6.0. But, I have thought about that. The Master LDAP server is a dual 2.3ghz G5 xserve with 5gb of ram... I would think that it could handle opendirectory authentication just fine, and it has been for years now, up until the 6.0 upgrade...
