Exclamation [SOLVED] 6.0 help

new 6.0 install. Everything works for a while, but then we start to get deferred messages and IMAP users start to have trouble connection. I do a server restart and all is well for another hour until the issue repeats itself. This issue only happens during the day when we have all of the users connecting to the server, after hours it works ok. I've adjusted the IMAP thread but it doesn't seem to help.

Server OS 10.5
2.8 ghz quad core xeon
4 gb ram
1.5tb hd
roughly 180 IMAP users and 20-30 Webclient users

Default Narrowing it down

ok, so I've had consistent email delivery for about 2 hrs in the middle of the day, however I'm still having some issues. looks like the flaky IMAP connections are due to a flaky external LDAP connection. On Zimbra 5.01X we had good external LDAP authentication to the same server that worked every single time, but now it sometimes will only connect and authenticate after about 3 tries. if I restart the Zimbra server it will work fine for a while, but then the authentication issues will start back up.

Has this server had any kind of power outage recently? What errors do you see in the Zimbra logs when you get this problem?

There hasn't been a power outage since I completely re-formatted and did a fresh install of ZCS6.0GA. Which log should I be looking at?

Have a look at this thread and see if it matches your problem. If not, post some more details from the logs.

ok, so I looked at logs and I think I found the main issue. Postix is working fine now and messages haven't been stuck in deferred at all since earlier this am. Also webclient users are working fine without errors when trying to send mail. All that's left are some IMAP users not being able to authenticate until after 2 or 3 tries....

Here's some of what's going on in audit.log

2009-09-09 14:39:27,941 WARN [ImapSSLServer-235] [ip=10.8.24.216;] security - cmd=Auth; account=XXXXXX@hssd.k12.ar.us; protocol=imap; error=system failure: simple bind failed: hssdmac.k12.ar.us:389;
2009-09-09 14:39:27,956 WARN [ImapSSLServer-235] [ip=10.8.24.216;] security - cmd=Auth; account=XXXXXXX@hssd.k12.ar.us; protocol=imap; error=system failure: simple bind failed: hssdmac.k12.ar.us:389;

Also I noticed another message.

error=system failure: LDAP response read timed out, timeout used:30000ms.;

Maybe the timeout time needs to be increased to give the LDAP server more of a chance to respond?
