Default Zimbra Backup

Guys, I have a tape backup system that is already backup up some files on my mac server (same as zimbra installation). Could I point my tapes to the /opt/zimbra/* folder and backup all of my emails? Or is there a better way to backup Zimbra to tapes?

I wouldn't recommend backing up straight to tape; you'll either get partial backups if servces are running or the Zimbra services will have to be down for a LONG time.

Why not Hot-rsync/Stop/Cold-rsync/Restart to another directory (assuming sufficient space) and back that up to tape.

My rsyncs (56+GB) take about 3 minutes and the tar/gzip over ssh takes a further 1.5 hours this would be about the same as going to tape. Zimbra is usually stopped for a total of about 30 second during this time.

Ok, not really sure what to do with the script on the wiki...so I just put it in a file, edit my variables, and setup a cron job?
