Unhappy Zimbra non parte, not start

-------------------------------------------------

Hi all, someone can tell me why after shutting the server, Zimbra will not start?

How do I restart the server?

what is the password for the zimbra?

when I type: su zimbra asking for the password and do not know.
I have not included this password

I hope someone answers me.

There is no password required for Zimbra.

Log in to your Zimbra server as root then use the following command:

Code:
su - zimbra
to become the zimbra users, you must always use the hyphen (-) with the su command or the environment doesn't get created correctly.

Some more information might help such as the Zimbra version and release number, is this a new install or an upgrade, which operating system, what errors do you see in the log files when you try to start Zimbra? Is this server behind a NAT router, do you have a Split DNS set-up?

Default :-) grazie

Ho zimbra ultima versione, installato ieri su Ubuntu 8.04

ho visto su internet che devo scrivere:

sudo su zimbra
/opt/zimbra/bin/zmcontrol start

Così funziona, e tutti i servizi sono attivi

Se scrivo:

/opt/zimbra/bin/zmcontrol status
mailbox Stopped
zmmailboxdctl is not running.

Perchè?
Come attivare questo?

Io non conosco linux, sto imparando e non conosco bene inglese sono italiano, grazie.

I Zimbra latest version, installed yesterday on Ubuntu 8.04

I have seen on the internet that I have to write:

sudo su zimbra
/ opt / zimbra / bin / start zmcontrol

So it works, and all services are active

If I write:

/ opt / zimbra / bin / zmcontrol status
Mailbox Stopped
zmmailboxdctl is not running.

Why?
How to enable this?

I do not know linux, I'm learning and I know good English are Italian, thanks.

A version number is actually beter than the 'latest release', you can get that with:

su - zimbra
zmcontrol -v

If you are doing this from a normal user account then it will be asking for your password. You should, as I mentioned earlier, login as root the use the following command:

Code:
su - zimbra
You must use the hyphen to create the correct environment.

So it works, and all services are active

You have to look in the log files for the errors. You should also answer all the questions I've asked you, they are important.
