Wink Zimbra 6.0 Rc1 Ubuntu 804lts -Attachments Block Error

Hi All..

I have my first Linux mail server up and running... (I have 15 years with windows)
I have had to make additional notes to fill in the holes from the guides that are speaking natively to Linux admins Us noobie's don't know all of the admin shorthand for Linux, so we have to do extra lookups to figure things out..
I found some holes in the guides - doing a new install and I have made notes.

I have two issues still.
this one might be a bug..?
1) Admin login, Global.. Attachements.. When i try to add them to the left side for blocking.. i am getting a popup error when trying to save.

a box pops up when i try to save and says
"JavaScript error encountered in method ZaXFormViewController.Protoype._saveChangesCallbac k"

2) Monitoring - Server status data is not available, To see the server status logger service must be installed..

I'm pretty sure during install this was "ok" is it something that has to be started.. or do i need to install something additional like "Sysstat" that was missing out of the guide and I had to go hunt for it...

I checked zmcontrol status and logger is running.. but admin says logger not installed.. huh?!?

Thanks guys.. New Linux Convert here..

- Systat issue - not installed on base ubuntu install
this resolves the issue..

Install systat
sudo apt-get install sysstat

Enable sysstat data collection
Sudo bash
dpkg-reconfigure sysstat

Then start sysstat via:
/etc/init.d/sysstat start

- Attachment blocker issue.. Guys. my bust..

If the box Select "Attachments cannot be viewed regardless of COS"
is "NOT" checked.. the error shows up when you try to save..

maybe we should have a different popup msg.. instead of one that looks like a system error...

Default Attachments error

I also have a similar issue when I'm trying to add blocked extensions. It doesn't matter if "Attachments cannot be viewed..." is checked or not.
See attached.

hi georgelazar,

I completely missed this on 4 installs.. but in your screen print.. in the back ground
you "DO NOT" have the box checked..
"Attachments cannot be viewed regardless of COS"

There are 2 little boxes.. check both of them then hit save.. that is what messed me up.. (All i thought i had to do was select attachments and hit save..) but the box has to be checked.. then my error went away.

I did that already, now with the screenshot attached. I have checked the box - hit save and go back to add extensions - hit save again and now the error...

Thanks,
George

Hi,
looking at the message your error is the same, but the the underlying description is different. Can you do two things?
1) what browser are you using? Can you try another one?
if IE try firefox and vise versa.
2) try logging in from another pc to admin page?

Is this a new install or existing one... ?

Thumbs down Web Admin - can't save Attachments - Blocker

Funny thing..I went back in to check mine and they were all gone.. it did not save the attachments..now when i try to add them back checking both boxes.. i am getting the same error as i was before.. (Same as you) so this is NOT resolved.

Anyone know the file to edit manually since the Web GUI doesn't work..?

The file is /opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_header_checks but I tried to add the following config from another zimbra install (5.x):

/filename=\"?(.*)\.(asd|bat|chm|cmd|com|dll|do|exe| hlp|hta|js|jse|lnk|mov|mp3|ocx|pif|reg|rm|scr|shb| shm|shs|vbe|vbs|vbx|vxd|wav|wmf|wsf|wsh|xl)\"?$/
REJECT For security reasons we reject attachments of this type
/^\s*Content-(Disposition|Type).*name\s*=\s*"?(.+\.(asd|bat|chm |cmd|com|dll|do|exe|hlp|hta|js|jse|lnk|mov|mp3|ocx |pif|reg|rm|scr|shb|shm|shs|vbe|vbs|vbx|vxd|wav|wm f|wsf|wsh|xl))"?\s*$/
REJECT Attachment type not allowed. File "$2" has the unacceptable extension "$3"

but after zmcontrol stop/start zimbra overwrite the content with default, even if it have read only access there.
Strange...
