SpamAssassin Clarification

I have tried to find this by searching the existing threads but am still not "clear".

In regards to SpamAssassin, is the action of pressing "Junk" on a message the procedure that "teaches" SpamAssassin?

Or, does zmtrain run against existing messages in the "Junk" folder that does the "teaching"?

I am running: Release 3.1.1_GA_394.FC3_20060505121237 FC3 FOSS edition
