Default Zimbra upgrade failed, now it won't start - PLEASE HELP!

Hi, folks.

I am desperate here.

Tonight I was upgrading Zimbra Community Edition from 5.0.4 to 5.0.9. The upgrade failed, and when I tried to restart zimbra, it keeps asking me for the LDAP password.

I don't know what the LDAP password is. Is there a way I can recover it?

Please help me!

Any files in /tmp called *.log ? What else is in your /var/log/zimbra.log ?
Code:
su - zimbra
zmcontrol status
I presume you took a backup before performing the upgrade ?

Talking Server works again, thank God!

Hi there.

Yes, I took a backup.

However, by a miracle and Grace of God, I happened to remember the zimbra account password (and DOCUMENTED it), and I got the box operational again.

I do seem to have a hard time getting a good backup though. I tend to see a lot of messages that say "cannot create symbolic link". It looks like it's a permissions thing.

I run the command:

cp -rp /opt/zimbra /where/I/want/the/backup

If you have an idea how I can overcome this, I'd be grateful.

Code:
rsync -avHK /opt/zimbra where_you_want_the_backup
