Default Urgent !! status=deferred lost connection with server.hostname.comwhile sending end

Hi,

I have two servers installed with zimbra with Master/Slave configuration. I have configured the mails coming to slave server to relay to master server using

zimbraMtaRelayHost: Master Server IP

It was relaying mails from slave to master fine till few days back. But, now i see its not redirecting properly. Its showing error message as

================================================== ==========
Jul 31 03:11:00 slave postfix/lmtp[29578]: DDB4B38F81C9: to=<user@domain.com>, relay=slave.hosname.net[IPAddr]:7025, delay=0.07, delays=0.02/0/0/0.05, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (lost connection with slave.hostname.net[IPAddr] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once)
================================================== ==========

Please help me to figure out what causes this. I tried some instructions from the forum thread relating to Clam and amavsd issues which didnt fix the issue yet.

Looking forward for help.

Sujith

What happens if you try telneting to the master on port 7025 and manually put a SMTP mail through ? Have you checked /var/log/zimbra.log on the master to see if any errors are being received ?

Hi uxbod,

Thanks for quick reply....

I can telnet to master and slave mail servers to the port 7025 fine...

For very few email accounts mails correctly relays from slave server to master server.
For all others i get the message as i posted in first thread.

I tested sending a mail from slave server to mail account and it gets into deferred queue. The relay address comes as "none" .. Only notable error message is

Hi,

I revoked all the changes made to main.cf file. But, still it shows the same error.

The entry was added to configure mailman with zimbra.

Just stuck with this issue Any other clues ?

Regards

Code:
su - zimbra
postfix check
and then check /var/log/zimbra.log for any error messages. Please also post your main.cf from /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf (remember to change any sensitive data it in).

You still have hash references in main.cf for mailman. Have you checked the permissions on those files to ensure that zimbra can read them ?
