Default [SOLVED] Problem with mta (postfix) - simply refuse to start

Hi guys,

After we have a problem with full disk, and we clean it.
We can not send or receive mails any more.
I check and I sow this :
Quote:
antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Stopped
postfix is not running
zmsaslauthdctl is not running
snmp Running
spell Running
stats Stopped
I have start zmsaslauthdctl manually but postfix is still not working.
I am getting load average around 10 from postalias.

Any ideas?

Unhappy Some more info for the problem

if I try
Quote:
]$ sh -x bin/zmmtactl status
+ BASE=/opt/zimbra
+ SCRIPTS='zmmtaconfigctl postfix zmsaslauthdctl'
+ case "$1" in
+ STATUS=0
+ for i in '$SCRIPTS'
+ /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmtaconfigctl status
+ R=0
+ '[' 0 -ne 0 ']'
+ for i in '$SCRIPTS'
+ /opt/zimbra/bin/postfix status
+ R=1
+ '[' 1 -ne 0 ']'
+ echo 'postfix is not running'
postfix is not running
+ STATUS=1
+ for i in '$SCRIPTS'
+ /opt/zimbra/bin/zmsaslauthdctl status
+ R=0
+ '[' 0 -ne 0 ']'
+ exit 1
Apparently I can not make postfix works. I think there is something is wrong with postalias

If anyone have an idea will be much of a help.

Nothing unusual or at least I can not detect anything.

Concerning mta :

So what did you clean up ? Shutdown ZCS and make sure no processes owned by zimbra are still running; and if so kill them off nicely. Once that is done try starting ZCS again.

Ok I did that:
Quote:
[root@srv-webmail-m-01 ~]# ps aux | grep zimbra
root 22382 0.0 0.0 3908 664 pts/1 S+ 09:32 0:00 grep zimbra
[root@srv-webmail-m-01 ~]#
and immediate result was
Quote:
Message from syslogd@ at Thu Jul 30 09:14:28 2009 ...
srv-webmail-m-01 kernel: journal commit I/O error
After the hard restart to the server zimbra start is taking forever.

Looks like you have some filesystem corruption so you may wish to FSCK the disk and ensure everything is okay. What do you get if you run dmesg ? and have you checked /var/log/messages ?

Nothing unusual in dmesg or in /var/log/messages. Yes I had some problems with the file system but now it's Ok and I repaired all mysql tables according to
Logger - Zimbra :: Wiki

But no matter what I do it still hangs on this
Quote:
/opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/postalias /etc/aliases
and I am getting really big load on the server from this process.

Can I reinstall just the postfix inside zimbra

Have you checked /etc/aliases to ensure that it is not corrupt ?
