Default Authentication with freeRadius

I am trying to connect my freeRadius box to zimbra's OpenLDAP for authentication. This is more of a freeRadius problem but was hoping to get some help from here.
The freeRadius box needs to use peap authentication which cannot figure out what the openLDAP encrypted password is. PAP works fine but can't use that from the Access point and client workstations.
Is there a way to have the password stored or converted to clear text so that other authentication tools can read/compare the passwords for authentication?
I know the clear text is a bad idea but that is the only way I can get freeRadius to authenticate, luckily this is only on a test system for the time being.
