The way I implement Mailscanner and Mailwatch is that it sits in-front of ZCS and performs all aspects of AV/AS. I then disable these features within ZCS. Why? you may ask ... Well I like to keep my ZCS installation as Vanilla as possible; that is not to say ZCS cannot be customized I just prefer this approach.

In my opinion i think this is a cute approach, now I'm askin my self, probably becouse never installed one yet, but Mailscanner + Mailwatch installation could be done on the same machine server where Zimbra ZCS is installed with all its modules activated? If the answer is yes, what I need to install in what order to obtain a functional interface between ZCS and Filters?

Sorry, this probably seems a shout of help more than a simply question

If you were to adopt this approach then I would highly recommend that MS/MW is installed on a separate machine to ZCS. You would then have MS relay all messages to ZCS and vice-versa. You could also have MS inject a header showing how the email was scored and then a per user sieve rule in ZCS to act on it.

So the process is:
  • main DNS point to zimbra
  • zimbra relay all to MS
  • MS relay all to zimbra

this is logic, but how to not fall in a loop between zimbra/MS ?

No, the MX record would point to MailScanner, which when processed a email, would forward onto Zimbra. For outbound you would setup ZCS to relay through the MailScanner server.

That's right! Now it has sense

There is a field into Administration console to relay all outbound to an external server?
