slapd runs for a few seconds then quits:

Code:
root@zimbra:~# ps -ef | grep slap
zimbra 4758 1 0 15:15 ? 00:00:00 /opt/zimbra/openldap/libexec/slapd -l LOCAL0 -4 -u zimbra -h ldap://zimbra.domain:389 -f /opt/zimbra/conf/slapd.conf
root 4878 4764 0 15:15 pts/0 00:00:00 grep slap

Turned out to be a corrupted ldap database. I had to run the ldap startup command by hand. Then when i saw that it was corrupted i had to restore from on old backup.

I followed this for the restore:

solved-ldap-slapd-database-environment-corrupt-issue-solutionl

EXCEPT that after creating the new directory, restoring the data with slapadd i had to create the logs directory by hand before everything would start up again.

Back in business.
