If I remove all the duplicates from an outlook that has been tied to Zimbra using the outlook connector, then allow it to sync back up to the server, will it then delete the same contacts on the server side?

I am running a duplicate cleaner utility on the desktop right now, and I want to know if it will carry those deletions up to the server side (which I want).

Yes. I do a similar thing with Apple Address Book and iSync. Use the Mac to de-dup/merge and then push the changes back to the server.

I thought the magic trick was to use apple's address book to remove duplicates but I've discovered that it will delete fields from your data, at least the work phone2 and home phone2 fields. I haven't been able to determine what else but this was enough for me to start looking for alternate solutions.

If anyone has a good method for removing duplicates, I would certainly appreciate the tip.

Default Remove all duplicate data

One program I have used is:
Remove Outlook duplicates of emails or contacts

This is only for outlook though.

Cheers,
