Default [SOLVED] PRT, RDNS, Deferred, And more...

So I keep getting odd errors related to PTR, RDNS, and all that. Now I believe my PTR and RDNS are fixed according to our host and mxtoolbox diagnostics. But I still have errors like this:

[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] refused to talk to me: 554-5.7.1 - connection refused. ip name lookup failed for xxx.xxx.xxx.50.

The strange thing is, .50 is my firewall's address, not my mail server address, that is .97. RDNS and PTR all point to .97 as well.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

You need to give some details of your domain name so we can check it.

Are these internal DNS errors or for your external DNS?

domain name is domain.net

These errors are what I see when I hover over the item in the Error column of the mail queues in the zimbra acp.

What's in your resolve.conf on the Zimbra server?

Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf

Code:
[root@mail ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
search mail.domain.net
nameserver 192.168.0.43
nameserver 192.168.0.150
SplitDNS is installed. .150 is our MSDNS server.

Do both of those servers have the same DNS records for your internal LAN (including the Zimbra server)? If they don't then remove the one that doesn't have the zimbra server DNS records. If that's not the case then describe why you have two DNS servers.

the second DNS server is our MSDNS for our Active Directory environment. I didnt want to mix linux and windows and possibly create hassles so I just installed splitDNS.

OK, in that case I'd just suggest you remove the MSDNS server from your resolv.conf. You're likely experiencing the zimbra server getting an incorrect response (i.e. no record) from that server. Try that and see if that resolves the problem.

So if I remove that, then do a Flush of all the Deferred, that should fix it? We hope? heh.

I would expect that to be the case. If not then post some log information about mail that's getting deferred.
