Default Any one have a server behind an HTTP proxy?

In our environment our server sits behind an HTTP proxy. Some of the content that the server has to go to the internet for on behalf of the client don't work properly. I'm guessing this is because of the fact that we sit behind a proxy. For instance the Yahoo Maps zimlet pops up a blank box but if you click on the address a new browser launches and works fine. In another instance RSS feeds in the mail box fail.

Is there an internal setting for Zimbra to access the web via a proxy?

    Thanks
    Steve

As far as HTTP Requests, all you really need is port 80, but just to be sure, here is a list of the known needed ports:
    80
    110
    25
    7071
    389

Does this effect all users cross platform/browsers?

We don't have support for the Zimbra server to make proxied requests today. It's something we plan to support in a future release.
Looking for new beta users -> Co-Founder of Acompli. Previously worked at Zimbra (and Yahoo! & VMware) since 2005.

Thanks Kevin, that's exactly what I needed to know. I suspected it, but I needed official confirmation.

And thanks wannabetenor, but it seems to be an application issue.

    Default Proxy cache.

My users access Zimbra through a proxy server - squid. I had to turn off the proxy's cache to get it to work without weird results.

I'm not sure if this is the same type of setup you're talking about. If it is, you might try disabling the cache. It may have an affect on performance but that issue was not noticeable in my instance.

I'll add that we too are behind a squid proxy server (with cache enabled). For the most part things work just fine, although I did just try the Yahoo! Maps zimlet and got the "blank page" that the original poster mentioned. I haven't really heard many complaints about "weird results", so if there are other issues I don't know about them.

I would like to make Yahoo Maps zimlet work. I think I'll have to let zimbra access web(http) without proxy.

    This has been implemented.

    Code:
    zmprov mcf zimbraHttpProxyURL http://<user>:<pwd>@<proxy ip>:<proxy port>
