Default zmhsm. Writes to /var?

We launch zmhsm through crontab early every morning.
At the time that it runs, we've been getting alerts from our monitoring system that /var is getting full, and then whatever has dumped data to var, cleans itself up.
It hasn't caused any problems, but we're trying to see what is happening, so that we can be sure that it's not going to case problems in the future.

The alert seems to occur shortly after zmhsm is run.
Can anyone verify whether zmhsm writes data to /var during its process?

Thanks!
