Default Multiple Global Address Lists

Dear All,

Current 5.0.16 version, we can select the recipients from either of these:
1. GAL
2. Shared Contacts
3. Contacts

and question#1 is that can we have more options in the list, for instance, can admin add another GAL2, GAL3 which's available for users?

We hope to separate GAL into several small groups so that it's easy to look up the correct recipients. We understand that we can do a "Search" to refine the result, however, it will be much much better if users can choose from several GAL.

question#2 :
Can admin add email addresses which are not belonged to current domain into such GAL(s) ?
We're thinking to create customer database for our sales, something like:

GAL_companyA : user1@companyA.com, user2@companyA.com
GAL_companyB : user1@companyB.com, user2@companyB.com ....

Is this possible?

Thanks.

What sort of progress is being made to implement this feature request of multiple GALs per domain? I'd like to set up a GAL directory that contains names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of our primary business partner(s) that my employees can access and search upon. The lack of this feature alone may impact our decision to purchase and fully implement Zimbra ZCS in our organization.

Thumbs up "Secondary" GALs coming in 6.0 release?

However, bug 13801 more accurately reflects the more immediate need for adding additional "secondary" (if you will) GALs to a domain or server, and (dis)allow users (via permissions-based access) to view/search these "secondary" GALs from their mail client of choice (Outlook, ZD, Entourage, etc.).

This is what I'm primarily interested in.

Bug 14531 makes mention of additional "secondary" GALs, in one sentence; "Also this allows third parties to plugin non-LDAP GAL sources into Zimbra." I'd be interested to know more about this specific feature. If I could take an Excel file, or .CSV document, and import the contents into a secondary GAL that users in the domain(s) can view and search upon in their mail client, that would be ideal. Auto-complete in the To: CC: and BCC: fields would be icing on the cake.

I am really looking forward to the 6.0 release.
