    PROBLEM # 2
Cannot connect from any imap clients to postfix for outgoing mail just keeps asking for username and password over and over. I get this in my logs what is going on help

    Oct 6 12:00:19 mx1 postfix/smtpd[4874]: TLS connection established from S01060004e21c5269.ed.shawcable.net[68.148.58.65]: TLSv1 with cipher RC4-MD5 (128/128 bits)

    Oct 6 12:00:19 mx1 postfix/smtpd[4874]: lost connection after AUTH from S01060004e21c5269.ed.shawcable.net[68.148.58.65]

Having wierd dns problems ie I have zimbra host on one ip address and dns server on another. People can get to canmail.org from the outside world but i cannot. Canmail server has its own connection and a differnt ip address than my dns server so it is technically external right?

help help and once more help

My slave server is down right now could that be having an effect I know this is not really on topic for this list.

For #1 do you have a valid Mx record setup for your domain that will resolve locally via DNS?

For #2 in the admin UI under Global Settings -> MTA do you have auth enabled and is the TLS only box checked? If so you may want to try disabling them to see if that helps.

When u say locally do u mean this in the ect hosts file on the local zimbra machine

    # Do not remove the following line, or various programs
    # that require network functionality will fail.
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    68.146.204.153 canmail.org
    68.146.204.153 mx1.canmail.org mx1

or do u mean a zone file on the DNS server it is not really local as it has its own ip and my modem has two connections to the isp one rj45 and one usb FreeBSD is and LAN is on rj45 and canmail.org/zimbra is on usb connection.

computerking is 123.123.123.123 externally and 192.168.0.202 internally as it controls all the machines on my LAN.

canmail.org is 123.123.123.124 externally and is the only machine at that address there is really no LAN connected to it.

Seems puzzling to me that i need an internal record and im not sure what i ip address i would asign as it is not part of the LAN.

Yes they are enabled but i have my IMAP client using ssl ports and ssl style connections also this setup worked very well before i installed the milestone.

Ok i disabled tls in the server tab

I stopped and started zimbra just to make sure that that the tls changes took but still get this in the logs when i try to send email.

    Default saslauthd not running?

I have noticed that thunderbird goes into a give me password loop on auth failures. Auth failures happen when saslauthd is not running. SMTP auth is done through cyrus-saslauthd-modified-to-add-zimbra-auth.

Looks fine. ? is the terminal that you started it with must have been closed. not a problem.

Are the errors in /var/log/zimbra.log still the same?
