Default Disable Chat

Hi,

I want to know if I can disable chat for a few users. If I change the allowed features for a particular user in admin console and disselect chat,t hat removes the Chat Service from the Zimbra Web Client but not from pidgin. The user can still login from pidgin.

We are using pidgin for the chat feature and need to disable chat only for a few users. I would appreciate if someone could help

Abhinav,

You can create a Class of Service in which you disable chat feature and assign newly created CoS to accounts which do not want chat feature.

If the accounts are already created, you can edit individual accounts from Administration Portal Accounts --> email@domain.com --> Feature Tab --> instant Messenger (Disable/Enable)

Hope this helps..

Regards
Sujith
