GAL pops up when typing in subject and body

I have a user accessing our installation from a mac 10.5.6 system using firefox 3.0.9. After she selects her recipients and begins typing in either the subject or body of the message, the global address list will still pop up for selection in the TO: field.

I find this extremely puzzling behavior since the preferences and application have been removed and the application was reinstalled to have the same behavior surface within a day. The interface is as it should be through safari and I have not heard of this behavior at all on Windows installations.

Has anyone else encountered this type of behavior? Any suggestions?

Could this be a Firefox extension causing a problem? Does it happen in a different browser on her account?

She is able to use safari without incident. Extensions are not in use on this system.
