Is the "save search" function defunct?

Is the "save search" function defunct?
If so can we remove it from the "help" doc?
If it's still alive, where is it?

Alive and well.

Maybe it depeds on your theme, but on mine there's a "Save" link right between the "Search" link and the "Advanced" link. It's to the right of the search bar.

The feature can be disabled, in the COS config under Features -> Search Features -> Saved Searches.

Why anyone one would disable it, I have no idea.
