Hi,

How can we achieve below things :

1. Is there any way to do data compression in jetty like apache ???

2. can we implement Use of concepts like expire-headers ?

because in report we found that lots of gif and png file are getting downlaod every time. If they are maintained under expires-header - they will not be downloaded - containing traffic/ bandwdith demand....

Please suggest...

Thanks

You can put a reverse proxy (apache, squid, nginx) in front of your ZCS in order to compress and/or play with headers/expires.

AFAIK, if you're using SSL, it won't help much (SSL doesn't allow caching on the proxies for example).

Thanks for your reply Klug.

So as per reply. in jetty we can not compress the data...i never worked on jetty so wanted to know this. We are using SSL..so there are very less chances were we can do the performance tunning in this regards...

Can you please tell me about below possibilities :

1. Is there any command by which i can set standard ( HTML ) version as a default profile for all users ?? In admin GUI, its avalible in prefernce, so i m thinking there must be some command to do that for all users.

2. Is there any logs getting generate from where i can check how many users login with Advanced ( Ajax) OR stanard ( HTML ) profile ?

3. Is there any trick for performance tunning of jetty ?

Thanks

Hi,

I am trying to tune my server as per performance tuning guide....when i have checked latest mailboxd.csv i found

Mailboxd.csv ->
imap_count max value is 472
pop_count max value is 385

And my current setting is :

zimbraPop3NumThreads: 100
zimbraImapNumThreads: 200
zimbraHttpNumThreads 500
zimbraHttpSSLNumThreads: 500

Any idea how can imap_count touch 472 which is more than the set value zimbraImapNumThreads = 200. Or may be there is no relation between imap_count and zimbraImapNumThreads
Similar with pop_count and zimbraPop3NumThreads

Also, the max db_conn_count is 2565 in mailboxd.csv. and i have set max db connection to 500.. How can db_conn_count touch 4 digit value. Is it different from max_connection?

Am i on the right track ?? pls correct me if i m doing any mistake..

Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

I just checked below link which is really good :

Log Files - Zimbra :: Wiki

As per this link that pop_count and imap_count is "timing data for imap and pop operation"

what it mean ? what is the unit ( sec / msec /min )for this section ?

and pop_conn and imap_conn are active connection for respective protocol...

is it related to zimbraImapNumThreads and zimbraPop3NumThreads setting ??

please help me to understand these parameters.

Thanks
