Default Change IP address

Hello friends,

I have been searching for any information about change IP address. I found that it is not problem to change IP address.

But i want to sure it so i have put in new forum.

I have Zimbra Open source on fedora 7 and works perfect. But now i have to move it to another ISP and change physical place too. So for static ip its not problem but i also have to change local IP address.

So i want to know that is there any special configuration needed for changing local ip or just change ip and restart the server?.

Guys, please reply and if need special configuration, share with me.

Thank you in advance.

Zimbra dont store the ip address in its configuration..it does store the FQDN in the settings ..i guess you not changing the hostname.
if your server is behind firewall then you must have the local ip in split dns configuration and /etc/hosts
other than that there is no other place to change ip.

if you moving physical server then following process will be helpful.

NO problem at all. Server works perfect after changing ip address. if u planning to change hostname than its difficult. but IP address, is very simple. just change ip, check /etc/hosts configuration.. thats all..

..... and check that it has been modified in DNS and that it can be resolved.

That's pretty straight forward , cause Zimbra operates it's own system in host-name way, thus the only thing you need to pay attention to is to make sure the original hostname/DNS configuration stays same. and just follow the standard OS steps to modify your IP.
